Introduction
Noise Parameters are the non-50Ω extensions of Noise Figure and are an important modeling and model validation tool for LNA. Noise Parameter measurements are typically performed using:
- Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) to measure the S-Parameters of the DUT
- Noise Receiver (either Noise Figure Analyzer NFA or Spectrum Analyzer SA) to measure the noise power of the DUT
- Tuner to present different source impedance to the LNA
The minimum noise figure measurable by the noise receiver is a critical element to gain confidence in the accuracy of noise measurements. Maury MT7553 series enhances the typical system measurement accuracy reducing the total system noise figure adding an integrated switch and wideband LNA close to the DUT.
