MT986C Series

The Maury MT986C automated tuner controller provides comprehensive control of up to four automated microwave tuner assemblies in manual mode or automated mode. Manual control is exercised via the controller front panel keypad, manual position knob and other front panel swithches. The controller provides automatic control using an external host computer, and is primarily intended for operation under remote control from the host computer via an IEEE-488 General Purpose Interface Bus (GPIB). In this mode, all front panel switches except the local switch are disabled, and all front panel switch functions and various internal instrument functions are controlled by the host computer. Eight models are available (see Table 1).

Maximum ratings: 12 VDC @ 0.5A per phase.

117,000 steps per second (maximum), depending on
the mechanical load and motor type.
Fully programmable automatic ramp-up and ramp-down.
Manual control with ergonomic knob on rotary pulse
generator (RPG) encoder.

Position Accuracy:
Within 1 step; absolute positioning depending upon
mechanical system.

Power Requirements:
85VAC through 264VAC universal (power supply),
48 to 62 Hz, single phase 550VA maximum
(NOTE: Fuse specified for 115VAC and 230VAC operation.)

Notes:
* The MT999 Harmonic Tuners require a split cable to run two MT999s from one of the four available Tuner Output Port on the MT986C Controller.

** Each Tuner Output Port requires one motor board. Four Tuner Output Ports require a total of four tuner motor boards. Each motor board can run a maximim of one standard microwave tuner and two MT999 harmonic tuners.
