Description

Maury MPF flanges were developed to provide precise mating of flanges when repeated connections are required or where the customer requires the best waveguide alignment in his system.

Some of the MPF series flanges also allow mating to more than one type of flange interface which provides the user with versatility and economy when faced with the requirement to mate with different type flanges within a band. Please refer to the "mates with" column in the Maury Precision Flange "MPF" Chart to see the possible combinations. The Maury MPF flanges are not provided on all waveguide components, however, they are provided on components used in calibration kits or low VSWR components such as waveguide to coax adapters with VSWR of 1.10 or better.

Maury MPF flanges in WR22 and smaller waveguide (millimeter wave sizes) provide dramatic improvements in flange connection consistency, repeatability and serviceability over standard UG flanges while still maintaining mating compatibility with these older designs (see data sheet 5E-030). As in the larger waveguide sizes, these flanges incorporate two precision index holes utilizing slip fit alignment pins. Threaded pins may also be installed in the standard four-pin pattern when mating to standard UG flanges is required. Since both the threaded pins and the alignment pins are removable, the flange face is available for servicing. These flanges also have a raised outer ring which prevents the mating surfaces from cocking due to uneven torque applied to the flange bolts.

NOTE:

With the exception of MPF90-1/2B and MPF475, all Maury MPF flanges are supplied with precision index holes. We can also provide alignment pins which are a slip fit for the index holes. These pins, which are provided with all Maury waveguide calibration kits for network analyzers, insure precise alignment and repeatable conditions for waveguide connections. Alignment pins are available separately.
