Marvin Moore is the Quality Assurance Manager at Maury Microwave Corporation. He joined the company in January 2008.
Before coming to Maury, Marvin had acquired 26 years of manufacturing experience; the last 15 of which included holding key positions in Quality Control/Quality Assurance. He began his manufacturing QA career as an in-process, first article and receiving inspector, at HydraBaths, Inc—a leading manufacturer in the whirlpool bath industry—and was promoted 3 years later to Quality Assurance Supervisor. While holding that position he completed a number of key quality management systems certification courses provided by the AIAG (an automotive industry quality management group). He was promoted to Quality Assurance Manager with responsibility for training and operating a QA department of 5 inspectors. In that role he was also responsible for managing all RMA activity and for coordinating and reporting on all MRB issues.
When customers in the international market served by HydraBaths began to require suppliers to be ISO certified, the company moved to seek ISO 9001/2000 certification. Accomplishing this fell largely on Marvin, who immersed himself in the task of mastering the ISO Standards. For his efforts, he was promoted to Director of Quality in 2003. In this role he continued to serve as the management representative responsible for maintaining the company's ISO certification, until he left HydraBaths in 2005.
In 2005 Marvin took a position with Fred R. Rippy, Inc, an aerospace supplier of close tolerance, exotic alloy, electrical motor laminations. This firm was ISO 9001/2000 certified but, to maintain 'Preferred Supplier' status with its customers, needed to add AS 9100 certification to the quality assurance program. Given just 6 months to master the AS 9100 standards and bring the company into position for certification, Marvin worked with a consulting group and due to his efforts the company achieved certification in only 5 months. Marvin continued serving as the firm's QA Director until he moved to Maury.
Since joining the Maury Team, Marvin has been spearheading our recertification efforts, and has been the key agent of change in revamping Maury's QA Department. As Maury's Quality Assurance Manager, Marvin also serves as our Management Representative for ISO and AS certification and is responsible for managing all of the inspection and quality control processes at Maury.
